Croatian coach Slavin Bilic expressed deep sadness after losing his team to Al Ittifaq after a draw 1-0 on day 15 of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman football championship.
"I do not know what to say," he said at the press conference. "We had plenty of opportunities to take the lead, and even after the agreement was reached, we had the opportunity to score a draw and a point.
"Sometimes we could not compete with Al Ittifaq because of its physical superiority," Bilic said.
The six-point ranking is in 15th place.
In the first 15 rounds of the league, UEFA failed to win a single game against Al-Batin against a goal.
Belic took over the club as a successor to Argentine coach Ramon Diaz, who was sacked after the defeat of Al Qadisiyah, three, unanswered in the first round.
Spanish coach Sergio Pernas, head of the first team of the Al-Ittifaq football club, said that Al-Ittihad would manage to avoid being relegated to the Saudi Premier League next season.
At the press conference, Pernas said: "The game was quite different in both directions, the league in the second half was better than the first half and the reverse was produced with the agreement of the club.
"I want to congratulate Al Ittihad for this special level," he said. "I think the league will survive the recession if it continues to deliver this exceptional performance.
Al Ittifaq currently occupies eighth place in Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's ranking for professionals, while Al Ittihad is in 15th place.
Mohammed Marzouq Al-Kwikbi scored the only goal of the 26th minute of the first period.
