The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Subhi, announced that he was preparing a surprise for Liverpool Prime Minister Mohamed Salah, when he won the African Player of the Year Award in 2018 in which he faced the Senegalese player Sadio Man and Pierre Obamyang of Gabon.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has announced the final list of candidates for African player of the year, reduced to three players: Mohamed Salah, national star of Liverpool, Sadeo Mani of Senegal and Liverpool, Pierre Emeric Obamyang from Gabon and Arsenal.

The awards ceremony will take place in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, on January 8, before Mohamed Salah wins the title of African player of the year after also competing with Senegalese Sadio Mani and Gabonese Pierre Obamyang.
