China leaves its first footprint on the other side of the moon

BEIJING – A Chinese probe vehicle Chang & # 39; e-4 has left the first "fingerprint" on the other side of the moon, reported the official media.
The vehicle, known as "Good Rabbit II," left its mark on Thursday afternoon after it successfully withdrew from the investigation, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
Other spacecraft had already spotted the far or "dark" side of the moon but did not land on it.
The movement of the moon is linked to the movement of the planet, where the moon turns on itself as fast as the Earth, which means that the far side can not be seen from the Earth.
The agency reported that the vehicle had recorded signs of "soft ground of the moon" and sent images to Earth via the satellite "Distort Qiao".
The Chang-e-4 probe landed near the south pole of the moon earlier on Thursday.
China has become the first nation to land on the other side of the moon, a task that is part of an ambitious space program spanning decades.
