MADRID (Reuters) – Real Madrid have revealed the injury suffered by German midfielder Tony Crosse in a 2-0 defeat to Real Sociedad on Sunday during the 18th round of the Spanish league.
Crosse left Santiago Bernabeu 10 minutes from the end of Real Sociedad's match, after a 0-1 win over Spaniard Danny Sibayos.
Real Madrid announced Monday in a statement posted on its official website that Crosse had been subjected to a medical examination to determine the size of his injury during the match against Real Sociedad.
The tests showed a second degree cross fracture in the muscle of the left foot, without revealing the time during which he would be absent from the game.
The Spanish newspaper "Marca" confirmed that Crosse would be away for a period of at least 3 weeks, which means his absence from both matches for the prize of the King's Cup final and qualify for the quarterfinals in case of qualification, in addition to Real Betis and the Sevilla League.
Crosse joins a long line of injured players at Real Madrid, led by Wales's Gareth Bell and Domenico Mariano Diaz, Marcos Llorente and Marco Ascencio.
