The Korean technology company Samsung has caught the eye, but another company has successfully launched the first mobile phone that can be bought and used in real life. Royole has quietly built its flexible displays since 2012, and its new FlexPai smartphone is the result of this effort.
FlexPai has a Snapdragon 855 chipset, a storage capacity of 6 to 8 gigabytes (GB) of RAM, 128 to 256 gigabytes of storage with 16 and 20 megapixels and runs Android 9.0.
The most important element, the screen, is the 7.8-inch AMOLED, which can be folded in half to form a usable phone.
The company has already taken a step ahead of Samsung, which has long talked about a foldable device in the coming period. Huawei also plans to introduce a flip-screen smart phone in the coming months in a frantic race within a group of companies aimed at entering the market of this different type of Appliances.
