Salah's goal was enough for Liverpool to reach the 57th point and keep Twitter in front of Manchester City.
"We knew how difficult it was to face Brighton," Arnold said. "We suffered at home to score and we finally scored the goal of the three points."
"We deserved the win and the quick goal of the second half helped us," he told Sky Sports.
"Mohamed Salah once again demonstrated his talent and strength in helping us achieve what we want against Brighton."
"To be the best, you have to win in a lot of games, the English Premier League is very difficult and we play every game to win."
"We are disappointed when we draw or when we lose, we hope to continue to advance the league."
Liverpool lifted their points to 57 points and extended their lead over the winning streak a few days after their defeat in the last round against Manchester City, holders of the title and out of the FA Cup, falling to Wolverhampton in the role of 64.
