American astronomers from Villanova University have discovered a planet near Bernard's star, which according to their research could be viable.

ESA reported that the detected planet was twice as large as the Earth and colder, but scientists believe that it might be suitable for human life.

According to scientists, the planet is only six light years from Bernard's star, and this distance is very short by the standards of the universe.

Scientists have called the planet "Bernard Star B" or "supernatural earth", 2.3 times heavier than the Earth.

It was discovered with the help of an ESO planetary hunting instrument, especially used when looking for planets.

The researchers explained that the year on the planet "super – earth" only extends over 233 days and that temperatures can drop to -150 degrees.

The planet is covered with ice, but under its thickness, there can be water and therefore life.
