Cm Vampire bat key to many serious diseases

An international team led by the University of Queensland discovered that vampire bats could be the key to new treatments for a range of serious medical problems.

The new study revealed that the toxins from these bats could soon be used to treat various serious health problems, including heart failure and kidney disease.

According to the international team, these peptides can be used to treat various conditions, including hypertension, heart failure, heart disease, burns and others.

"Peptides are mutant forms of peptide-associated calcitonin gene (CGRP), which our body uses to calm blood vessels," said Dr. Brian Frey, co-author of the study.

"The peptides extracted from bats have an unusually selective functioning, which makes them more therapeutic in terms of calcitonin gene-associated peptide (CGRP), which has fewer side effects," Frey said.

"This should help doctors treat a range of disorders with high blood pressure in small blood vessels or improve blood flow to damaged or implanted tissue such as skin grafts," said Frey.

Although these results are an important medical step, researchers are already struggling to access vampire bats.

"We can no longer access the original location of these animals in Mexico because we have learned that the area was seized by drug traffickers," said Dr. Fry. "We will have to find new safe sites in the field and once that is done we will be on the right track to find new differences in potential peptides and drugs, which will save many lives."
