CAIRO, Egypt (Reuters) – Egyptians Mohamed Salah and the Egyptian Premier League are leading the English Premier League after scoring two goals in a 4-3 win over Crystal Palace during a match at Anfield in the 23rd round of the tournament.
Mohamed Salah has raised his score to 16 in the latest edition of the English Premier League, two before Arsenal of Obamyang and Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane.
Liverpool climbed 60 points at the top of the Premier League, with seven points ahead of Manchester City, second, Sunday, while Crystal Palace stopped 22 points in 14th position.
Mohamed Salah raised his score to 50 goals overall in the Premier League and became the fourth fastest player in the history of the competition to reach that number, where he played only 72 games, either the same number, Fernando Torres, star of the Reds and ex-Chelsea.
Former Manchester United star, Andi Cole, was the fastest to reach 50 goals. He arrived after 65 games. Alain Shearer, ranked second, Blackburn and Newcastle, 66th, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, the former top scorer with 68 games. The pharaoh became the first Egyptian and Arab player to reach 50 goals, and the eighth African player reached that figure.
