Spanish tennis player Pablo Carino angered the referee at the Australian Open before throwing his bag on the ground to give a stern response to the public.
The 27-year-old Japanese competed against Ke Nishikori of Japan, 30, in the fourth round at the Melbourne stadium.
At the start of the match, the Spaniard made two innings and seemed to win, but Nishikuri managed to reverse the result in the 5-hour marathon.
The loser shook hands with his winner, but suddenly Carino shouted at the referee: "Stupid" in Spanish, then threw his bag on the ground to protest the decisions he judged " unjust ".
For their part, the supporters on the ground responded with rockets.
An hour later, Carino apologized for his "unsporting" behavior on the field: "I was obviously very sad," he said. The exit from the stadium was incorrect after five hours of fighting. I'm so sorry".
Serbian Novak Djokovic, the first seed of the Australian Open tennis tournament, is expected to advance to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open tennis tournament.
