Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez have been tried in the Spanish capital, Madrid, for tax evasion for nine years in a match against Real Madrid.
According to the BBC, the prosecution has required the conviction of Cristiano Ronaldo to a fine of 18.8 million euros, a fine agreed between the public prosecutor and the Ministry of Finance, in exchange of the recognition of four ancient crimes of Real Madrid Tax evasion between 2011 and 2014.
But Ronaldo, 33, will not spend time in jail because Spanish law states that any sentence of less than two years to the first offense can be removed.
