Finasteride, which treats hair loss, also helps fight prostate cancer. In the United States and Britain, men use this medicine to keep their hair off.
Finasteride is safe, inexpensive and effective in the prevention of the disease, but it is not yet registered in the United States as a drug for the treatment of the prostate.
