Pyramids owner Turki Al-Sheikh announced on his Facebook page that the name of the new coach would be announced on Friday night to succeed Hossam Hassan.
Hossam Hassan was fired Thursday after a 3-3 draw against Zamalek in the postponed game of the ninth round of the Egyptian championship.
The names of the coaches were published by Al-Sheikh, the Brazilian Vanderlei Luxemburgo, 66, who has already formed Brazil, as well as by several clubs, including Real Madrid, for a short period.
Former Spanish coach Manuel Jimenez, who also worked with Las Palmas and AEK of Greece, and Serbian coach Ivan Jovanovic, former coach of the United Arab Emirates, had previously been coached by Abuel Cyprus .
