Novak Djokovic has been crowned Australian Open champion and has become the most sacred championship since its inception, defeating Switzerland's Roger Federer.

Djokovic beat Spaniard Rafael Nadal 3-0 in a Serb-dominated match.

Djokovic scored the first set 6-3, before winning the second 6-2 and finally the third and the match at 6-3.

Djokovic continued to shine in the Grand Slam tournaments for his third consecutive title.

Djokovic won the Australian Open, the first major league this year, after winning the last two championships last year: Wimbledon and America Open.

Djokovic is now about to travel to 15 major Grand Slam championships, narrowing the gap between him and Nadal, 17, and Roger Federer, one of the top 20 players.

Djokovic was the only winner of the Australian Open with seven points after Roger Federer, the last two titles, and Roy Emerson, each with six tournaments.

Djokovic has played 24 last Grand Prix wins on 15 of them and has lost 9 times the last American Open in 2016.
