The Parker Solar probe began its second journey to the sun, after launching in August on a historic mission to get closer to our star and completed its first orbit in November.
The first flight took 15 million miles from the sun's surface and inside the halo at 213,000 mph, and the spacecraft is preparing for its second voyage. The space agency has announced that the Parker probe was en route for the second approach, which will arrive on April 4th.
According to the British Daily Mail, Barker Solar Probe will complete a total of 24 planned orbits over the next seven years, bringing it closer to the surface.
Its systems were fully operational and started on January 1 st. They then sent data to Earth, but the second approach would do 15 million miles from the Sun, about half of the distance reached by the Helios II spacecraft, which was about 27 million miles. From the sun in 1976.
