The Egyptian Football Federation, which brings together all Premier League clubs, convened an urgent meeting next Wednesday (6 February) to discuss the crisis of the championship.
A dispute arose between Turki Al-Sheikh, owner of Pyramids, and Ahmed Chubair, vice president of the football federation, because of the players of Al Ahly.
Pyramids filed a complaint with the African Football Confederation (AU) in the aftermath of the conflict and the club announced that Zamalek would not play any match before Al Ahly.
Al Ahly released Friday a statement in which he confirmed that he would play no match that needs to be changed in the league schedule announced until the end of March next.
The official report of the Football Federation on Twitter has issued a statement confirming the call for an urgent meeting next Wednesday.
Ahmed Mujahid, spokesman for the Football Association, said at a press conference at the end of the meeting that there was no intention to cancel the league championship, insisting to end the competition, despite the large number of hosts and Egypt hosting the African Nations championship next summer, according to the website "Koura" .
Mujahid also said the council insisted on the survival of Amer Hussein, head of the competitions committee in his post, stressing that there was no intention to dismiss him.

Mujahid said that there were meetings with Hany Abu Reda, head of Gabaliyya, to form the committees of the African Nations Championship, stressing that the formation of these committees would be announced in full next week, underlining that the date of the extraordinary General Assembly of Gabaliyah would be February 23.
