The Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received at the Doha International Airport the mission of the Qatari team from Amman after the 2019 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
The Qatari team landed at Hamad International Airport from the Sultanate of Oman, where it arrived from the United Arab Emirates after being crowned Asian title.
Crowds gathered in the streets of Doha to welcome the Annabi mission and celebrate the Asian champions.
Al-Annabi has become the fourth Arab team to win the Asian Cup after Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq.
Kuwait was crowned with the Asian Cup in 1980 and Saudi Arabia in three versions in 1984, 1988 and 1996 and Iraq in one copy in 2007.
Annabi is the ninth country to win the championship title. The last four editions of the championship have been crowned by three new champions: Iraq in 2007, Australia in 2015 and Qatar in the current version.
