As part of World Cancer Day, which coincides with 4 February each year, the Saudi Cancer Prevention Society launched a three-year campaign on Monday under the slogan "I am and I will do it".

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world, responsible for 9.6 million deaths in 2018 alone. According to the International Federation Against Cancer, kill one in six, noting that 70% of deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. The world has experienced more than 18 million new cases of cancer in 2018, including 5 million breast and uterine cancers, colon, rectum and mouth cancer and one third of cancer deaths attributed to the five risks: high body mass index, low consumption of fruits and vegetables and lack of physical activity, tobacco and alcohol. Smoking is one of the leading causes of infection and is responsible for 22% of deaths by disease, while hepatitis and HPV account for 25% of infections.

Lung cancer and breast cancer lead to infections in 2.09 million cases, 1.8 million colorectal cancers, 1.28 million prostate cancers, 1.07 million skin cancers and 1, 03 million cancers of the stomach. The World Health Organization (WHO) confirms the possibility of preventing cancer by providing a smoke-free and low-calorie environment and by raising awareness about hepatitis vaccines and cervical hepatitis vaccine.
