The Ministry of Health has launched a two-month national measles and rubella immunization campaign to immunize children aged 6 months to 5 years with a booster dose.
The ministry provided the vaccine free of charge in all health centers of the Ministry of Health to all citizens and residents and began this week to provide services to listeners.
"The virus" lives in the nose and throat of the infected person and is passed on to other people through a coughing or sneezing bomb carrying the virus. (Contagious) for up to two hours. A healthy person can get the infection by touching these contaminated surfaces and rubbing their mouths, noses or eyes.
The virus could be passed on to other people from the beginning of the incubation period until the fourth day of the beginning of the rash.
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that affects all age groups and children, and can lead to serious complications. Symptoms vary between 3 and 5 days.
