UEFA has announced the selection of Nasser Al-Khulaifi, owner of Paris Saint-Germain, as a member of the UEFA Executive Committee.
This was announced at the European Union Congress on Thursday in Rome.
Al-Khulaifi was elected club representative by the European Clubs Association in the last days of January.
The president of St. Germain waited for the announcement at the congress of UEFA, which had already happened.
"I am honored to be the first non-European to join the executive committee of the European Union," said Al-Khulaifi to Bein Sports.
"I thank my colleagues from the European Clubs Association for trusting me to represent them on the UEFA Executive Committee."
"We will work together to find the best way to strengthen European teams and clubs," said the club's owner.
