The body of Emiliano Sala, a professional footballer born in Argentina, has been officially identified after his transfer to the port of Portland, police said in a statement.
Sala, 28, was leaving Nantes in the west of France on January 21 to take part in her first match for the English Premier League club Cardiff City when her plane disappeared over the English Channel. The wreckage was found Sunday.
British rescue teams recovered the body from the wreckage of the plane, which crashed into the sea more than two weeks ago with Cardiff City and the pilot aboard, Sky News reported Thursday.
Rescuers used vehicles that were working in "difficult conditions" to remove the wreckage from the water, said officials from the British Air Accident Investigation Branch.
A spokesman for the investigation team said the body found had been taken to forensic medicine at a hospital in the southern island of Portland.
The weather impeded the restoration efforts of the aircraft, which is still within 67 meters under water and 21 miles off the coast of Guernsey in the English Channel.
The rescue team found the wreckage Sunday after a massive fund-raising campaign to continue searching for it after the interruption of official searches and the discovery of the hope of the day. plane found on January 24th.
Emiliano Sala signed with Cardiff City, leaving the French club Nantes in a contract of £ 15 million two days before the disappearance of the plane over the water.
Nantes has taken legal action against Cardiff City to claim the first part of the transfer of £ 5 million.
Although Cardiff has not paid any transaction fees to the French club, many are waiting to answer several questions, including ownership of the Piper Malibu aircraft carrying the player and other issues.
