MADRID (Reuters) – Barcelona have started a post-Argentinian flight after Argentine striker Lionel Messi should end his career in the next few years.
The Catalan club decided to prepare for this period by joining the young Dutch Frankie de Jong to strengthen the center, as well as the young French defender Todibu, who were working to hire a young striker.
Messi, 31, is now finishing his contract with Palugrana after two seasons, 33, and will finish his 16th season in Barcelona at the end of the season.
"We decided to strengthen the team by joining more of a young player.Our goal is to continue the success of Barcelona with Lionel and we are looking for the best performance for Barcelona," said club president, Josep Maria Bartomio.
"Two years later, my term as president of Barcelona will end and my goal is to leave the club for the next president to make the masses happy".
