The scientists were able to hide a dose in a tiny pill to pump medications such as insulin from inside the stomach.
The idea of a pea shaped tool is inspired by the shape of the turtle shell: it is able to penetrate the stomach and roll to a specific place, then the pill injects substances such as dried insulin into the wall of the stomach.
The researchers, led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said they have overcome the problem.

They confirmed that when tested on pigs, the resorbable pill reduced blood sugar levels to levels similar to conventional doses.
However, according to a study published in the journal Science, additional research is needed before testing on humans.
