Citing the fall of his plane during a match for the first time in Cardiff City
British authorities have arrested Southampton fans because of their cynicism over the death of Argentinian Emiliano Sala after the crash of his plane in the Dutch Sea more than two weeks ago.
Sala, of Cardiff City, played his first match since the death of the Argentine, Southampton facing the 26th round of the Premier League.
According to Sky News Arabia, a video posted on Twitter showed fans sitting in the streets of Southampton, making derisive gestures to provoke fans of Cardiff City.
One of them moves his arms up and down, referring to the movement of the plane, whose fall in the English Channel was caused by the death of Sala.
"They saw the movement of the two men, imitating that of the plane just two days after the announcement of Sala's death," said the accountant, who released the video.
"I was happy to see the moment they were evicted from the field … they were a shame."
The Hampshire police said they had arrested the two men after the publication of the information, saying that they would be liable for a three-year ban.
"The club can confirm the arrest of two supporters and the police got their data during the game against Cardiff City on Saturday," Southampton said in a statement.
"The club will continue to work with the police to identify anyone considered to have acted inappropriately towards Cardiff supporters," he said.
The match is over in favor of Cardiff City 2-1.
British police confirmed Thursday night that Sala was officially killed after his body, in the center of the world 's attention, was found in recent days.
