Al-Ahli has begun formal negotiations with Sharjah United Arab Emirates club for the services of Ali Zein, the Egyptian player loaned to support the team at the super-African showdown.
Al Ahly will play against Zamalek at the Africa Super Cup in Morocco next April and qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup to be held in Saudi Arabia.
"We have started formal negotiations with Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) for Zain's services to participate in the Super African," said Raouf Abdelkader, general manager of Al Ahly Sports Activity.
"We are waiting for the final response from the Sharjah officials, especially as the player was very welcome to join the team after participating in the Asian Club Championship."
"Only things will be settled between the two clubs and the negotiations will be conducted by Omar Shawqi, head of the handball club," Abdelkader said.
The Al-Ahli team includes eight international players who participated in the Egyptian team at the last world championship: Mohammed Essam Al-Tayyar, Islam Hassan Ibrahim Al-Masri, Omar Omar Hajjaj Omar Bakar, Ahmed Khairi and Abdul Rahman Faisal alongside Tunisian Youssef Maver.
"There has been more of a meeting with Slovenian coach Nicolas Markovic to answer all his requests and he tends to reinforce some of the positions he's asked for, such as the position of ############################### 39, back right, and the new agreements will be registered on time by the African Union, "said Abdelkader.
"The club's policy is to support the club's teams with the best elements that come from the desire to win all the tournaments."
