Why not let your child brush their teeth alone
According to a recent CDC study, young children use a lot of toothpaste. This increases the risk of tooth decay with age.
The study found that about 40% of children ages three to six used a complete toothbrush or a half toothpaste. Although experts do not recommend more than a pea amount for this age group.
The study was conducted on 5,000 children aged 3 to 15 years.
Health experts recommend that everyone drink fluoridated water and that people over two years old brush their teeth twice with fluoride toothpaste.
Fluoride has many health benefits but should be used with caution, says a Chicago dentist. Fluoride is found in the soil and in the water. Scientists said people with fluoride-rich water had less rot.
