Kuwait, convinced of its humanitarian mission, is in solidarity with the message of the countries of the world on the occasion of the commemoration of this day of Friday, and pays great attention to all its elements to combat this disease and confront it in all its forms and all its types.
Kuwait also attaches great importance to all events that constitute a moral and moral incentive for the wounded and their parents, particularly if the disease affects children. Efforts are made at all levels to alleviate the suffering of the wounded and their families.
Kuwait has participated in many initiatives and humanitarian efforts in this regard, whether through official bodies or private and private initiatives. The Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) has repeatedly stressed these initiatives. these solidarity mechanisms with this group.
Dr. Mitham Hussain, director of the Children's Hospital of the National Bank of Kuwait, said Thursday that the hospital is proud of its participation and solidarity in encouraging children and their families to give them hope. , joy and strength and serve as a catalyst for recovery.
He explained that childhood cancer is completely different from that of adults and that the most common cancers in children are kidney cancer, cancer of the nervous system and bone cancer, which indicates that the duration of treatment lasts from one to two years.
He stressed the concern of the hospital administration to complete the studies of children during the treatment period in conjunction with the time of the school when the opening of courses in cooperation with the volunteer of the Association (Abi Atalm).
Regarding the treatment, he said that if the tumor is malignant, there are three different treatments. The first is chemotherapy so that the child receives doses of drugs that kill cancer cells, then surgical treatment of the tumor before or after chemotherapy and then radiotherapy for rare cases.
He said that with the development of medicine, two new treatments have emerged, namely stem cell therapy, associated with high doses of chemotherapy, and then blood stem cell therapy and immunotherapy , which treat immune cells and then the treatment of tumors, which explains the lack of treatment of the child out of Kuwait.
Regarding cancer symptoms in children, Dr. Hussain said the majority of cases were related to leukemia (white cell carcinoma).
He pointed out that there were general symptoms, including that the injury to the child was not caused by inflammation or by the absence of other blood cells such as platelets and platelets. white blood cells with apparent pallor, loss of appetite, weight loss, slow growth and bleeding gums.
With regard to cancerous tumors, he stated that these tumors could be a phenomenon such as cancer of the lymph nodes or be felt, such as cancer of the kidneys or liver.
He added: "If the cancer is related to the nervous system, there may be convulsions, then a tumor in the head during the CT scan.Therefore, the laboratory diagnosis is accurate because not all tumors are malignant as they are benign in some cases.

Dr. Hussein confirmed that for cancer tumors, the clinical examination consisted in determining the tumor, then the diagnostic radiops and the tumor biopsy to determine the type of tumor, that it was benign or malignant.
He pointed out that some tumors are specific in terms of biological factors and are analyzed by tissue analysis to determine the tumor type accurately, as they determine the pathological antecedents.
