MADRID: Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos disappointed the yellow card in Wednesday's 2-1 win against Ajax in the Netherlands.
"Given the result, I would be a liar if I said I was not looking for a yellow card," said the captain.
"I do not underestimate the opponent and I do not think the confrontation is over, but in football, we have to make tough decisions," he said.
Ramos, in his 600th Real Madrid club, has done a lot to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Real Madrid will host Ajax in the return leg on March 5 and will miss Ramos for the suspension.
Real Madrid saved the game of a late goal by removing a goal from Ajax under the pretext of sneaking into the first half.
Karim Benzema scored the first goal of Real Madrid in the 60th minute and Hakim Ziyash equalized in the 75th minute and Marco Asencio seized the winner in the 87th minute.
"I'm a big fan of something and something that makes football more fair," he said.
"The video technique was sometimes not to our advantage, but today we have canceled an important goal," he said.
