Scientists from the University of Alabama at Birmingham have discovered evidence that long-term NSAIDs are at the origin of disorders of heart and kidney function.
According to the life sciences, carprofen was the subject of a detailed study on a series of heart attacks in mice, which revealed inflammation of the heart and kidneys.
With respect to the kidneys, carprofen elevated all vital signs of kidney injury. Infections have also been detected in the renal tubes and damage to their structure.
When used in the case of a heart attack, it has been shown to cause rapid inflammation of the kidneys. It stimulates the production of components that accelerate damage to kidney tissue.
