Putin injured during a judo training

Russian President Vladimir Putin wounded his finger at a training session with members of the Russian judo team at the judo judo sports center, in the port city of Sochi, in the south of the country.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Piskov said: "The injury of the president is normal and his finger was lifted during the judo training and he is fit … the sport too."

After a tour of the center where he met members of the Russian boxing, judo and freestyle teams, President Putin participated in one of the formations of the Russian judo team.

Putin has been practicing self defense since the age of 11 and won the title more than once in judo and sampo until he became a judo teacher.

Putin became the EU's honorary president for judo in 2006 and earned the title of honorary professor at the Yunnan University in South Korea, wearing the black belt of karate.
