Ambassador Bassam Radhi, spokesman for the presidency, said the president welcomed the meeting of the CAF president, highlighting the great popularity of football at the continental and international levels because of its effective role in bringing together peoples and the establishment of a spirit of sport and fraternity in the context of sports competitions.
The spokesman explained that the president had stressed the state's concern to provide all the necessary conditions for the success of the 2019 Nations Africa Cup, which will be hosted by Egypt in the month in June, at all organizational, administrative and logistical levels, particularly with regard to the Egyptian infrastructure with the highest level. For his part, Ahmed Ahmed presented to the president the slogan "Al-Kaf", commending the historic role of Egypt as the founding country of the African Football Confederation, crowned by the hosting of the headquarters of the Union in Cairo, extension of the leading position of Egypt in Africa at the political, social and cultural levels. Ambassador Bassam Radhi added that the CAF President had also expressed gratitude for all the facilities provided by Egypt to the African Football Confederation, affirming his confidence in the success of Egypt to organize the next Africa Cup of Nations at all levels, particularly in the light of the experience accumulated by his country in this regard.
