Inter Milan issued on Wednesday an official statement in which it was questioning the validity of the assertion of the attacker Mauro Icardi that he was injured and could no longer play.
"Mauro Icardi has undergone a medical magnetic resonance examination today because of the symptoms of right knee pain," the Italian club said in a statement posted on its official website.
"The tests did not show any significant differences from those that were made before the start of the current season."
This statement led to further uncertainty as to the future of the Italian player after he declared that he could not participate against Sampdoria due to a right knee injury.
This took place after Inter withdrew the armband of the Argentine striker and handed it to Samir Handanovic before the Vienna Rapid Match of the Austrian Open in Europa League, a match that Icardi had also missed.
"Some problems can not be solved by electronic conversations and video, but by words and we are really in face to face contact," said Luciano Spalletti, Nerazzurri's manager, at a press conference.
"For ICARDA treatment, it will be written for him, but reducing the number of discussions on social networking sites and communicating more realistically."
"In these cases, we need to remember how to work together to be a step in the right direction, even if the world is more technological than now," said Spalletti.
