A Qatari military force arrived Wednesday at King Abdulaziz Air Base in Saudi Arabia to participate in the "Joint Island Shield 10" exercise.
The Ministry of Defense of Qatar said in a statement that the exercise of "Joint Island Shield" had started today and would continue until March 12.
The Qatari Ministry also stated that the joint exercises in the Gulf were intended to further unify military strategic concepts and plans and to increase the coherence of forces in the presence of GCC forces.
Brigadier General Khamis Mohammed Doulan, Qatari Force Commander participating in the exercise, said that this exercise strengthened the cooperative ties and relations between GCC countries, highlighting the homogeneity of the military field and allowing to keep pace with challenges and dangers of all kinds.
