Egypt has experienced the creation of film festivals that are the destination of fans and film lovers of the Arab world and the world. It is one of the first countries in the world to know the art of cinema in 1896 and, from the beginning of 2019, several international film festivals were organized in Egypt.

In a period not exceeding three months, Al Shorouq reviews the film festivals held in Egypt.

Arab theater festival
The activities of the eleventh session of the Arab Theater Festival, organized by the authority of the Arab Theater in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, were attended by the Minister of Culture, Inas Abdel Dayem, and continued until 16 January.
The festival brought together 650 artists, writers and critics, 27 Arab and Egyptian theatrical performances and 9 awards for the Sheikh Al Qasimi Award of AED 100,000. At the closing ceremony, the festival's partner institutions were honored: the authority of the book, the Palace of Culture, the Academy of Arts, the House of the Opera.

Festival Film Association
The 45th session of the Film Society Festival, dedicated to the name of the critic Ali Abu Shady, is held at the Egyptian Opera's Creativity Center, under the chairmanship of the director of photography Mahmoud Abdel Samie, the January 26 to February 9.
The artist Laila Alawi, the artist Yahia Al-Fakharani, the director Jalal Al-Sharqawi, the screenwriter Farouk Sabri, the set designer Mahmoud Mohsen, the movie critic Amir Al-Amri, the director of photography Nancy Abdel Fattah and the jury director Hani Lashin.

Festival of the Catholic Center for Cinema
The activities of the Festival of the Catholic Center for Cinema, a 67th session dedicated to the spirit of the late artist Jamil Rateb, presided over by Father Daniel Boutros, took place from 8 to 14 February in the hall of the Nile of the Franciscan Fathers, in the presence of several artists.
Festival director Adel Adib was honored by several artists including Farouq Al-Fishawy and Ahmed Badir for "Pioneer of Cinema" and director Yousry Nasrallah for "Farid Al-Mazawi" and Raja Al-Jadawi. Raghda, Eman Sarkisian, Hisham Salim and Amr. Youssef, Mubarak and May El Ghaiti.

International Aswan Film Festival
In the presence of Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, the third session of the Aswan International Women's Film Festival took place on Wednesday, February 26 at 7 pm under the slogan "Freedom for Women".
The festival, organized with the support of the Ministries of Culture and Tourism and sponsored by the National Council of Women and the Union of Directors of Photography, offers five specialized workshops during its activities, in addition to honoring the female icons of several Arab and foreign countries.

Sharm El Sheikh Asian Film Festival
With director and screenwriter Magdi Ahmed Ali, the third session of Sindila's Sharm El-Sheikh Asian Film Festival will open at the Grand Ballroom in Sharm el-Sheikh from March 2 to 8.
The festival, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, will host 27 Asian countries, including 14 awards for 220 films ranging from short films to feature films, including China.

Luxor African Film Festival
The eighth session of the Luxor African Film Festival will be held from March 15 to 21, under the presidency of the festival's founder, Sayed Fouad, and under the patronage of the artist Mahmoud Hamida.
Under the slogan "Cinema other lives and promises", 385 films from the African continent and from abroad will be presented at the festival, which will be attended by 36 African countries and 13 foreign countries, as well as the artist Lalba, l & rsquo; Asir Yassin artist and creators of African cinemas.
