The Italian confectionery manufacturer Ferrero has suspended its work at the Nautella chocolate factory in France because of the poor quality of its products.
According to the Ferrero experts' report, the company took this decision as a precautionary measure, after problems were detected in a component of the chocolate paste Nutella and Cinder Bueno from its branch in Normandy. The quality of nutella varies from one country to another and the product sold in Germany has a protein content of 10%.
"We can confirm that the current situation has not affected any of the products offered for sale," the company said in a statement.
The Ferrero plant in France also pointed out that the temporary closure of the plant, which will last until the end of the week, will not affect the supply of the company's customers.
The Ministries of Agriculture of Eastern Europe have asked the European Commission to amend its legislation, which prohibits international companies from supplying goods to the common market of the European Union, whose composition and the quality vary depending on the distribution area.
