Large companies have withdrawn their ads from YouTube, following growing concerns about the clemency of the famous video platform in the fight against sexual harassment of children.
Nestlé, a leading nutritionist, announced Wednesday the withdrawal of its digital advertising from YouTube around the world, citing the continuation of investigations with its partners and YouTube.
Epic Games (fortnight) has also decided to withdraw its ads from the platform and Disney has taken similar action.
The decision was made after a blog posted a video showing how child molesters continued through the YouTube comments section. And they shared videos of children with each other and links to pornographic content related to the harassment of children.
YouTube confirmed Wednesday that it was taking immediate action to solve the problem. A spokesman for the Financial Times newspaper said it had removed more than 400 channels broadcasting content shocking children and turned off comments on videos involving minors in the past two days.
