The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (GCAA) said it was currently working on setting up controls for internal ticket prices before publishing ticket prices this year.
The Authority added that it would proceed to a price review and a control of the mechanism, as well as to the establishment of controls put in place by the airlines, in order avoid excessive price increases and protect the market from manipulation.
In January 2018, Abdullah Al-Kharayef, official spokesperson for the Authority, announced that domestic airfares will be progressively published until they are fully published in 2019.
