Al-Sheikh Al-Sheikh, owner of Pyramids, commented on Ahli's statement that he had refused to play Pyramids at the Egypt Cup on February 28th.
"I do not expect to withdraw, God willing, the day of the match, we will see them on the ground because they form a team and a great story," wrote Al-Sheikh on his official Facebook page.
Al Ahly's board of directors announced Thursday it was refusing to replace the league's Pyramids team match at the Egypt Cup on Feb. 28.
The Football Association announced that the absence of Ahli to meet the Pyramids in the cup meant withdrawing from the competition.
