Researchers have discovered a useful Japanese plant with a substance that can help fight against aging. It is thought that the plant "Achibata" (scientific name Angelica Kiski) has many health benefits for the population of the Japanese archipelago, but this has not been confirmed by clinical trials.
The scientific journal Nature Communications reported that the plant contained material improving the mechanism of cleaning and reproduction of cells. This mechanism, called auto-adduction, prevents cell aging.
Professor Frank Madio, molecular biologist at the University of Graz, Austria, involved in the study, said: The flavonoids found in the Ashbata plant promote self-induction on yeast cells .
The research team performed a test on cells of the insect group, showing that this article extends the life of 20% on average. The researchers also performed the same test on mouse heart cells and different types of human cells, and concluded that compounds from the Japanese plant could slow down aging.
