Chinese rival Huawei surprised South Korean rival Samsung with a new announcement called "shocking".
Huawei is about to release its version of the Huawei X mobile phone during its participation on Monday, February 25 at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
This comes just days after Samsung announced its new version of the Galaxy Fold phone.
Huawei released a photo showing a banner with a "flip-down" phone, but a collection of scaffolding was blocking much of the poster.
The sign displays a long open phone in the middle and in a second, it seems folded.
"The world's first fifth-generation folding phone", as well as the words "Huawei Dead X" written directly below.
According to the photo, the Huawei foldable phone is a copy of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, equipped with a touch screen on the outside and foldable inside.
But the Huawei Mitt appears with a single fold-down touch screen that wraps the outside of the phone when it is folded, the user can only use the virtual part of this screen.
