He stressed that the summit was an opportunity to evoke these cultural and human dimensions as a solid basis for bringing dialogue to a real level of cooperation, based on a clear vision and realistic action plans in the service of the interests. and to obtain mutual benefits.

The Moroccan king said that the reality of the Arab-European cooperation, as well as the size of his equipment and his knowledge, underlined the necessity to carry out an objective and serene evaluation of his results, to review his interlocutors, to define his strategic priorities and to develop its working methodology in order to improve it.

"Today we are called to guide our discussions and dialogues towards a serious and profound reflection on how to reflect this cooperation in the field by developing an integrated global vision of the future project we want for our region, based on a rational order of priorities and a proactive participatory approach based on flexible and sophisticated work mechanisms.

He stressed that the Summit was an opportunity to begin the development and implementation of such an ambitious project, which was not difficult given the existence of mechanisms and mechanisms. existing structures, including the 5 + 5 Dialogue and the Union for the Mediterranean.

The King of Morocco called on Arab and regional blocs, including the Arab Maghreb Union, to play their part in developing Arab relations with the European partner and removing political obstacles and bilateral disputes that hinder the Arab relations. progress and development.

He stressed that the region was facing major challenges, including the Palestinian issue and the future of Al Quds Al-Sharif, to which his country attaches great importance as Chairman of the Al Quds Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He stressed the need to preserve the legal status of the Holy City in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1967, to all the peoples of the region, in accordance with the principles already agreed, allowing the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem for capital.

The Moroccan monarch concluded his speech on behalf of Moroccan Prime Minister Saadeddine Othmani, stressing that his country was ready to engage seriously in new activities to promote the Arab-European dialogue at a real and significant level of cooperation in the region. countries and to contribute to the realization of the ambitions and aspirations of their peoples.
