Sony seeks to exploit its history in the film industry by introducing new phones with 21: 9 screens used to film and display movies.
The company announced a new phone, the Xperia 1, at the World Congress of Mobile Telephony in Barcelona on Monday, February 25, a phone with light emitting diode (OLED). (HDR) and enhanced with Sony's Bravia TV technology.
It is also capable of capturing and recording a 4K video in 21: 9 format.
Metsuya Kishida, president of Sony Mobile Communications, said the company had inherited a rich legacy in meeting the technological requirements of professional filmmakers in terms of sound and image.
"The new Xperia phone will provide authentic technologies with many professional features to provide entertainment experiences only provided by Sony," he added.
Sony used 21: 9 formats in two medium-sized phones, the Xperia 10 and the Express 10 Plus.
