The King of Morocco, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Moroccan Prime Minister Saad Eddin Othmani at the second plenary session of the Arab-European Summit which ended today in Sharm el-Sheikh: an integrated vision of the partnership between the two parties requires focusing on certain priorities, including Arab national security and the rebirth of the Arab world. It is Europe's responsibility to help its Arab neighbors to realize this vision and to guide future partnerships towards an intellectual, cultural and media environment conducive to coexistence and cooperation between the peoples of the two regions.

He stressed that the Sharm el-Sheikh summit is of great importance to the Arab world in that it establishes a neighbor who occupies a prominent place in the map of its relations with its various partners from countries, groups and countries. regional and continental organizations.

He stressed that the reality of the Arab-European cooperation and its material and scientific size confirm the need for an objective and serene evaluation of its results, to review its interlocutors, to determine its strategic priorities and to develop its methodology of work to improve it.

The King of Morocco called on Arab and regional blocs, including the Arab Maghreb Union, to play their part in developing Arab relations with the European partner and to overcome the political obstacles and bilateral differences that hinder the progress and development.

He stressed that the region was facing major challenges, including the Palestinian question and the future of Jerusalem, to which his country attaches great importance, in his capacity as Chairman of the Jerusalem Committee of the Organization of Islamic cooperation, stressing the need to maintain the legal status of the Holy City in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1967. To the peoples of the region, in accordance with previously agreed principles aimed at enabling the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem. Is for capital.

For his part, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri said that the Arab-European summit of Sharm El-Sheikh was being modernized to serve as a basis for the reestablishment of the partnership and the deep reconciliation of the concepts gathered. around countries and communities on both sides.

In dealing with the crisis of displaced Syrians, he said: "In Lebanon, we are hosting nearly two million refugees, mostly displaced people fleeing Syria." In this crisis, we have made every effort to resolve it.

He called for a doubling of international efforts to ensure the safe and dignified return of Syrian refugees to their country, in accordance with international principles and laws, so as to guarantee the sovereignty and laws of the host countries.

He also called on the international community to recognize the seriousness of the suspension of UNRWA funding and its negative repercussions on Lebanon and the region.

He stressed that Lebanon would witness in the next stage a real revival of the economy and investments, thus praising the position of the European Union as the Arab brothers who have always been with Lebanon and affirming their support for the Lebanese government's vision of stability and growth.
