The Secretary General of the Arab Economic Unity Council said that the Union of Arab Entrepreneurs had a very important role to play in the overall development of Arab industry, especially in the next phase, which would require considerable efforts. to rebuild the Arab countries, especially those affected by the revolutions of the Arab Spring that destroyed the economy. And infrastructure and created the terrorism and social unrest of today.
This occurred during a speech delivered at the meeting of the Higher Council of the Union of Arab Entrepreneurs, chaired by the President of the Federation, Ali Sanafi, and which was attended by Chiefs. and delegations of subcontractor organizations from eight Arab countries, namely Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Libya and Yemen.
The Union said in a statement that it had made several decisions to suspend membership of Arab countries not having participated in Union meetings for more than 20 years and informed them of this decision and gave them 15 days to remove the grounds for the suspension. The Arab contractors are complying with the proposal for a statute drawn up by the Arab Economic Unity Council and with respect for the private life of the Union, after having received proposals from the Arab countries on the necessary amendments.
The Union has also decided to communicate with Arab countries in need of reconstruction to obtain reconstruction and development programs, and to work towards establishing Arab partnerships to implement reconstruction projects rather than foreign companies, which acquire the largest share of these projects. And the convening of a conference in which will participate the Arab Housing Ministers, the Union of Arab Entrepreneurs and all who are interested and specialized in construction, to discuss a unified Arab strategy for reconstruction and overall Arab development through Arab enterprises.
The Union urged the Council of Arab Housing Ministers to adopt a directive giving priority to Arab construction companies in projects proposed by Arab and Islamic financial institutions and Arab governments.
