Oil prices declined on Tuesday to continue their losses after falling 3% in the previous session, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, of OPEC, to limit his efforts to raise prices .

Brent crude futures were at $ 64.66 per barrel, down 10 cents or 0.2% from the previous close. Brent, which fell 3.5% on Monday, hit its lowest level since February 14 at 64.32 dollars a barrel.

The American crude amounted to $ 55.21 per barrel, down 27 cents, or 0.5%.

Analysts say the United States, the world's largest oil consumer, wants to avoid a recent price hike, backed by a cut by two major producers. Brent prices rose 8.1% between February 8th and 22nd.

On Monday, Trump expressed concern over oil prices and reiterated his previous calls to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to maintain price stability.
