Leicester City chose Brendan Rodgers as the new manager after the Premier League's fourth Premier League defeat for the first time since 2000.
The coach from Northern Ireland signed a contract with his new club until June 2022, replacing former coach Claude Boyle, sacked Sunday 16 months after taking office.
The contract concerns the return of the former Celtic club of England, Celtic, Rodgers, who had previously worked for Liverpool and Swansea City.
"I will devote all my life to making the fans proud of themselves," said Rodgers.
The new coach of the stands saw his team beat Brighton 2 to 1 Tuesday and address the players in the locker room after the match.

He added that it was "distinct and honorable" to assume this task. "Together, we will be stronger and look forward to working with players, staff and the public to make the right decisions to move forward."
The new team joined Rodgers, a former defender of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Celtic, Colo Toure, as a former team coach, before working for him at Celtic.
In Liverpool, Rodgers was on the verge of winning the Premier League title in 2013-2014 before being sacked in October 2015.
He then took over Celtic in May 2016, winning the seven local awards available in Scotland and his latest achievement as a team leader at the Scottish League Cup in December.
In two and a half years in Scotland, he qualified twice for the group stage of the Champions League and broke the British record of 100 years with 69 games unbeaten.
He also coached Watford and Reading and won the overall coaching title in 2014.
"I am very happy to have Brendan as Leicester City coach," said club vice president Iwat Srivadabanabrabha.
"I look forward to seeing what he can do with our talented young team, a competent and committed team."
Rodgers will be Leicester's fourth coach, 23 months after Boyle and Craig Shakespeare were sacked, and Claudio Ranieri, who won the Premier League in 2015-16.
Leicester lost Saturday against Crystal Palace 4-1, their fourth consecutive loss, the first in the Premier League since January 2000.
