In 2013, the theme of the Forum was the name of the late South African leader Nelson Mandela at its fifth session, organized by the Luxor Governorate from 19 to 25 December under the auspices of Mr. Nabil El Arabi, Secretary of the League of Nations. The participants also organized a campaign of cleaning, beautification and planting of Luxor under the name of "Jamila Yabledi" and visited several archaeological sites in Luxor and Aswan.

The Nile is a path of cooperation, not of conflict
The forum is organized by the Arab Union for Youth and the Environment in cooperation with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Center for Education, Science and Culture. water and water security studies in the League of Arab States and the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources of Luxor and Aswan governorates. With the participation of 300 young people from 30 Arab and African countries in the forum, to be held under the title "The Nile is a path of cooperation and not of conflict".

Its aim is to activate the role of young people in national problems, seeking to achieve economic integration between Arab and African countries, and to involve young people from Nile Basin countries in the debate on Water, to exchange the international experiences of young people working in the field of the environment and to emphasize the importance of the conservation of water resources and the rationalization of consumption. In addition to organizing several activities on the sidelines of the Forum in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and the Institute of African Studies and Research as well as the Holding for Drinking Water and Sanitation.

Under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the forum will be organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with the League of Arab States from 19 to 28 December. Cairo, Luxor and Aswan.

* Forum recommendations
Last year, the Forum received seven recommendations, the first of which was the launch of the Think Afro-Arab initiative as a platform for Arab-African youth from various fields to create a road map for ideas and initiatives that could support the African continent and the Arab world and contribute to the rebirth of all African societies. And the creation of the Arab-African Youth Parliament to rehabilitate youth and strengthen their role in political and community participation and decision-making, and to prepare young leaders capable of playing a positive role that supports development plans in Arab and African societies.

The third recommendation was to launch the youth caravan program in the Arab world to strengthen peace, assist countries emerging from conflict, rehabilitate youth to promote a culture of peace and implement youth programs. Regular and sustainable exchanges in the fields of education, entrepreneurship and the development of information technologies, within the framework of memoranda of understanding and official protocols between Arab and African countries.

The fifth recommendation was to launch the Afro-Arab Youth Observatory to combat cyberterrorism and raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and its impact on Arab and African national security.
