Arab League welcomes Bashir peace declaration of 2019

In a resolution issued today, the Council of the League of Arab States welcomed the statement of President Omar Hassan Ahmed al-Bashir in 2019 on peace and stability in Sudan, as well as efforts deployed by the Sudanese government to promote peace, security and stability in the country.

The resolution insists on full solidarity with Sudan to preserve its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and to refuse any interference in its internal affairs.

The resolution called for the arms campaign to join the peace process and the national dialogue based on the Doha document for peace in Darfur, as well as Sudan's efforts to achieve peace in the countries of southern Sudan and the Sudan. Central Africa.

The resolution calls on the United States to remove Sudan's name from the US list of agricultural countries of terrorism, praising the efforts of the Arab People's Assembly in the same direction.

In a second resolution, the resolution invited member states and Arab funds to cooperate with Sudan to consolidate efforts to alleviate the Foreign Minister's debt, as well as to speed up preparations for An Arab conference to support development and reconstruction efforts in Sudan.

The resolution valued Sudan's efforts to combat illegal migration and human trafficking and welcomed large numbers of refugees from neighboring countries.

The resolution called for the immediate implementation of the initiative of His Excellency President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir for food security in the Arab countries and to submit plans to this effect through the executive mechanism approved by the Arab Summit in 2017.

Ambassador Abdelmahmood Abdel Halim, Sudan's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, said the decision would be submitted to the adoption of the Arab Foreign Ministers on Wednesday, 6 March.
