Jennifer Lopez's speech on former baseball player Alex Rodriguez

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez announced her engagement with former baseball player Alex Rodriguez on Saturday by posting photos of her engagement ring on social media.

"She said yes," Rodríguez said on his Twitter page, "with an expressive heart symbol and a photo of him holding the singer's hand, adorned with a huge mask.

Lopez offered the same picture on his account on the Instagram app.

People magazine cited sources that Rodriguez reportedly spoke to Lopez on Saturday while they were on vacation in the Bahamas. The two started going out together two years ago.
