The official spokesman of the Saudi Organization for Standardization and Metrology, Tams Al Hammadi, revealed that the Authority had issued 12 certificates corresponding individually to imported electric cars for personal use.
Al Hammadi said that the Authority had authorized the import of these vehicles during the first phase of the application, during which only individuals were allowed to the importer, noting that the second phase would be applied later to allow traders to import these cars.
He added that the Authority was working on the development of electronic programs for car dealerships and importers for the issuance of certificates and energy efficiency cards, as well as the publication of technical specifications and regulations for technical requirements of freight stations.
